MENUFY
With Menufy you can temporarily hide windows on the Workbench Tools menu,
either with a hotkey, or by doubleclicking in them (with a qualifier down).
Care has been taking to only menufy windows which can handle it. A window
can be menufied if it is:
- resizable or refreshable
- not gimmezerozero
- doesn't have a requester or menu up or is refreshing
An menufied window appears as a menu item in the Tools menu of the
Workbench screen. By selecting that menu item the window will be
restored. Iconify has the same functionality as Menufy, but hides
windows as an icon on the Workbench screen.
TOOLTYPES:
CX_PRIORITY Priority of this commodity in the CX inputevent
handling chain.
Default: 0
MQUAL CX style qualifier which indicates that
doubleclicking in a window means `Menufy!'.
Only control, lalt and ralt are allowed!
Default: control
MKEY Standard CX style hotkey to iconify a window.
Default: control f10
Note that the default doubleclick qualifier and hotkey for Iconify
and Menufy are the same. It is unlikely that both programs will be
used at the same time, but if you do (why?), you'll have to change
the tooltypes for one of them.
REQUIREMENTS
Obviously Menufy requires AmigaDOS Release 2.0 since it is a commodity.
If you don't have AmigaDOS 2.0, you really should get it.
Given the nature of this program (an unsupported hack) it may or may not
work with future revisions of the operating system.
INSTALLATION
Just put Menufy and Menufy.info in sys:wbstartup and provide the
tooltypes you want. Make sure the qualifiers and key you indicate
with IQUAL and IKEY don't interfere with another commodity, like
ClickToFront by Mike Sinz.
WARNING
Playing with windows you don't 'own' is always tricky business. Though I
believe all possible conflicts have been prevented, it might be possible
that by using this program situations emerge which confuze the OS and
lead to a software failure. In other words don't experiment with it when
you haven't saved that file you are editing yet. Remember you use this at
your own risk!

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
Thanks to Mike Sinz for his 'but what if' questions. Without him there
might still be some potential nasty situations in Iconify and Menufy.
Thanks Mike!
